Gary Clark, Jr. opened for Jimmie Vaughan and The Tilt A Whirl Band at Buddy Guy’s Legends. He is an award winning bluesman who has been playing since he was 12 years old. Clifford Antone, of the famous Antone’s in Austin, Texas, had been a significant part of Gary’s success. We were immediately struck by Gary’s gifted performance of some good old blues which had a distinct sound of Chicago's own "Magic Sam". While he isn’t that old himself, he plays with that seasoned compassion of the great blues artists who preceded him.
